Children's Day at Flagey

Flagey, Brussels
For an entire day, the inhabitants of the Flagey building threw open their big doors to children aged between 6 and 12. The children were invited to discover all the things which happen on a daily basis in the historical edifice which once housed the Maison de la Radio. A host of activities had been organised, such as giving the children the chance to sing in a choir at a concert, produce the front page of a newspaper, take part in producing a television news programme and an edition of Klets, a radio programme for children. It was also possible to take a workshop in dance and even to make musical instruments from vegetables. The exciting day came to a dazzling finale with a thrilling ‘Boombal’, open not just to children, but also to their parents. The Cultural Service of the Polish Embassy offered the young people the chance to take a cultural trip to Poland, during which they could discover the secrets of the geography of Poland, not to mention unravel the subtleties in the pronunciation of the Polish language, all the time travelling to the sound of The Locomotive by Julian Tuwim.
